About This Course
Organisations running on Microsoft 365 increasingly rely on SharePoint as their central hub for document management, collaboration, and business process support. Yet most teams use only a fraction of its capability, manually routing files, chasing approvals, and re-keying data across systems. Power Automate — Microsoft's cloud-based workflow engine — removes that friction by connecting SharePoint to hundreds of applications and services through intelligent, low-code automation.
This five-day Microsoft SharePoint Automation with Power Automate Training course from TrainingComplex is designed for professionals who want to move beyond basic SharePoint usage and build reliable, scalable automated solutions. Participants will explore the full lifecycle of a Power Automate flow: from triggering events in SharePoint libraries and lists, through conditional logic and parallel branching, to integration with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Planner, and external APIs. Special emphasis is placed on document-centric processes — automated approval workflows, version control notifications, metadata tagging, and records management — which are the most common automation needs in modern enterprises.
The programme combines structured instruction with daily hands-on labs, ensuring that every concept covered in theory is immediately reinforced through guided practice on a live Microsoft 365 tenant. By the end of the week, participants will have built a portfolio of working flows they can adapt and deploy in their own organisations, along with the confidence to design new automations independently.
Whether your team is seeking to reduce administrative overhead, enforce compliance controls, accelerate approval cycles, or simply free up staff time for higher-value work, this course provides the technical foundation and practical toolkit to make SharePoint automation a competitive advantage.

- Hands-on lab exercises at the end of each module where participants build, test, and debug actual Power Automate flows
- Process mapping workshops in which participants diagram their own workplace approval or document workflows before automating them
- Peer review sessions where small groups inspect and critique each other's flows, identifying logic gaps and optimisation opportunities
- Scenario-based challenges presenting realistic business problems — such as a multi-department procurement approval or a contract expiry notification system — for participants to solve using skills from the day
- Template deconstruction activities where participants open and analyse pre-built Microsoft flow templates to understand design patterns
- Q&A and troubleshooting clinics providing dedicated time for participants to resolve issues specific to their organisation's SharePoint environment

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need coding experience to attend this course?
No coding experience is required. Power Automate is a low-code platform, and this course teaches automation through a visual, drag-and-drop interface. Basic familiarity with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint as an end user is sufficient preparation.
Will I have access to a live Microsoft 365 environment during the training?
Yes. TrainingComplex provides access to a fully configured Microsoft 365 training tenant for all in-person and virtual participants, so every lab exercise is completed on a real platform. Participants who have their own organisational accounts are also welcome to use them where permitted by their IT policies.
What certification will I receive upon completing the course?
Participants who attend the full five days and complete the course exercises receive a TrainingComplex Certificate of Completion in Microsoft SharePoint Automation with Power Automate. This course also helps participants build practical skills aligned with the Microsoft PL-900 and PL-500 certification pathways, though the Microsoft exams themselves are taken separately.
Is this course suitable for someone who has never used Power Automate before?
Yes — the course is designed for participants with solid SharePoint experience but little or no prior exposure to Power Automate. The first two modules establish all necessary foundations before progressing to more advanced automation design.
Can the flows and templates built during the course be taken back to my organisation?
Absolutely. All flows, templates, and lab assets created during the training belong to the participant. You will export your completed flows as a packaged solution file that can be imported directly into your organisation's Power Platform environment.
