About This Course
In today's data-driven world, organizations across development, government, health, agriculture, and the private sector depend on accurate, timely, and visually compelling data to guide decisions. Yet many teams operate in silos — field data collectors use paper forms or disconnected mobile apps, analysts work in spreadsheets, and reports are produced without geographic context. This fragmented approach leads to delays, errors, and missed insights.
This 10-day Integrated Data Collection, Visualization and Mapping Training bridges that gap by combining four powerful, industry-leading tools into a single, coherent workflow. Participants begin with Open Data Kit (ODK), mastering the design of smart digital forms for mobile data collection in both connected and offline environments. They then transition to OpenStreetMap (OSM), learning to create, edit, and leverage community-sourced geospatial data to give their datasets geographic meaning. The programme then advances into the world of data visualization, where participants develop professional-grade dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI and Tableau — two of the most widely used business intelligence platforms globally.
Through hands-on exercises, real-world datasets, and project-based learning, participants gain practical proficiency rather than theoretical familiarity. By the end of the training, each delegate will have built a complete data pipeline: collecting field data on a mobile device, mapping it spatially, and presenting findings through interactive, publication-ready dashboards. TrainingComplex delivers this programme with experienced facilitators who bring field-tested expertise from development sectors, ensuring the learning is grounded in authentic professional challenges.
